1Portal Registration and Enrollment

What to do

  1. Click Enroll Now
    Select the Enroll Now button at the top or bottom of this page to begin.

  2. Create your NHCO Portal account
    You’ll be prompted to create an account if this is your first time enrolling.

  3. Apply a promo code (if applicable)
    Enter your promo code during checkout before completing enrollment.

  4. Complete enrollment and checkout
    Finish the checkout process to secure access to your application.

  5. Confirm your email
    Check your inbox for a confirmation email and follow the instructions to complete registration.
    Email confirmation is required to proceed.

Once enrollment is complete and your email is confirmed, you’ll have access to the exam application and can move on to the next step.

2Application Submission and Approval

What to do

1. Access the Application

  • Log in to your NHCO Portal to complete and submit your exam application for approval.

2. Review Eligibility Requirements

Before submitting your application, confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements. Detailed information is available on the Application Information page of the NHCO website.

If you are unsure whether your training provider is approved, contact your state Board of Higher Education or Board of Private Postsecondary Education for verification.

1. Education Requirement

    • Must be a high school graduate or hold a state-recognized equivalent credential (such as a GED or HiSET).

    • Applicants must be able to provide documentation upon request, including a diploma, transcript, or equivalent credential.

2. Age Requirement

    • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

3. Application Submission

    • Submit a complete application through the official NHCO certification portal.

4. Eligibility Attestation

    • All applicants must sign the Eligibility Attestation Statement, confirming that all information provided is accurate and truthful. False or misleading information may result in application denial, certification revocation, or other disciplinary action.

Please note that all requirements will be verified upon application submission.

  3. Request Testing Accommodations (if needed)

  • If you require accommodations, submit a letter from a healthcare professional documenting:

    • the diagnosed medical condition, and

    • how it limits your ability to test under standard conditions.

  • Accommodation requests must be approved before you submit your exam application.

4. Submit and Track Approval

  • Once submitted, application approval is required to access the exam.

  • Approval results are sent by email within 5 business days and also appear under “Feedback” in your course.

  • Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email notifying you that your exam is available for completion.

2. Check Proctoring Requirements and Exam Experience

  • Use a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook, as mobile devices are not currently supported.
  • Complete the Honorlock System Check as part of your exam preparation to ensure your system and testing environment meet exam standards.
  • Review the information about exam requirementsrequired passing score, and other specifications. Visit the NHCO Exam Information page

3. Take your Exam

  • Log in to your NHCO Portal to access and launch the exam during your access period.
  • Exam results are delivered by email within 7–10 business days.
 
📍 EXAM RULES

1. All exams must be completed in a single two-hour session.2. Candidates are not permitted to pause the exam and return later to complete it for any reason.3. Reference books or study materials of any kind are not permitted during the examination.4. Paper, pens, highlighters, and similar materials are strictly prohibited during the exam.5. The proctor will not answer any questions related to exam content during the testing session.6. Once the exam has started, candidates are not permitted to discuss or review the exam until it has been completed.7. Candidates are allowed one clear bottle of water during the exam. No other food or beverages are permitted. 8. Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination room at any time during the exam. Please use the restroom before beginning the examination. 9. Any attempt to remove exam content from the testing platform is strictly prohibited and will be considered theft of exam materials. This includes copying, photographing, recording, or attempting to memorize exam content for later distribution.10. Exams may not be taken in public areas.11. Mobile phones, smartwatches, earpieces, headphones, or any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited during the exam.12. Electronic devices synchronized with the testing device are not permitted.13. Reading exam content aloud is not permitted.14. No unauthorized individuals are allowed in the examination area during the exam session.

Certificate Issuance

Candidates who achieve a passing score will receive their certificate by email as a high-resolution PDF, including their credential number. Certificates may be printed as needed; NHCO does not print or mail hard copies.
