1Portal Registration and Enrollment

Select the Enroll Now button at the top or bottom of this page to begin. -
Create your NHCO Portal account
You’ll be prompted to create an account if this is your first time enrolling. -
Apply a promo code (if applicable)
Enter your promo code during checkout before completing enrollment. -
Complete enrollment and checkout
Finish the checkout process to secure access to your application. -
Confirm your email
Check your inbox for a confirmation email and follow the instructions to complete registration.
Email confirmation is required to proceed.
Once enrollment is complete and your email is confirmed, you’ll have access to the exam application and can move on to the next step.
2Application Submission and Approval
What to do
1. Access the Application
- Log in to your NHCO Portal to complete and submit your exam application for approval.
2. Review Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you meet the required training, education, or employment criteria before submitting your application.

Minimum eligibility requirements are listed on the Application Information page of the NHCO website.

If you’re unsure whether your training provider is approved, contact your state Board of Higher Education or Board of Private Post-Secondary Education for verification.
3. Request Testing Accommodations (if needed)

If you require accommodations, submit a letter from a healthcare professional documenting:

the diagnosed medical condition, and
-
how it limits your ability to test under standard conditions.

Accommodation requests must be approved before you submit your exam application.
4. Submit and Track Approval

Once submitted, application approval is required to access the exam.

Approval results are sent by email within 5 business days and also appear under “Feedback” in your course.
- Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email notifying you that your exam is available for completion.

2. Check Proctoring Requirements and Exam Experience
- Use a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook, as mobile devices are not currently supported.
- Complete the Honorlock System Check as part of your exam preparation to ensure your system and testing environment meet exam standards.
- Review the information about exam requirements, required passing score, and other specifications. Visit the NHCO Exam Information page.
3. Take your Exam
- Log in to your NHCO Portal to access and launch the exam during your access period.
- Exam results are delivered by email within 7–10 business days.
4Certificate Issuance
Candidates who achieve a passing score will receive their certificate by email as a high-resolution PDF, including their credential number. Certificates may be printed as needed; NHCO does not print or mail hard copies.
